Biography
Liliane Furtado is an Assistant Professor of Organizational Behavior and Leadership. She holds a Master’s degree (2012) and a Ph.D. (2016) in Administration from the Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration (EBAPE) at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV). Before joining COPPEAD, she served as a part-time lecturer at EBAPE and as a visiting professor in the Graduate Program in Administration at Fluminense Federal University (PPGAd/UFF). She is currently an Associate Editor of the Brazilian Administration Review (BAR) and serves as the coordinator of the Organizational Behavior track within the People Management and Work Relations Division of ANPAD (term 2024–2027).
Liliane worked for 10 years at the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), the federal agency responsible for Brazil’s official statistics. Her research interests focus on key topics in organizational psychology, with an emphasis on contemporary leadership approaches and psychological and motivational processes at both the individual and team levels, such as engagement, psychological safety, and empowerment. She also investigates issues of diversity and inclusion from a psychological and behavioral perspective, addressing topics such as stigmatization and stress. Her work is primarily quantitative, with a strong focus on experimental methods.
In recent years, she has received grants and recognition from public funding agencies and institutions, including FAPERJ (as a recipient of the “Jovem Cientista do Nosso Estado” and “Jovem Cientista Fluminense” awards) and UFRJ (Young Doctor Researcher Award). She has published extensively in national and international journals in the fields of organizational behavior and human resource management and serves as a reviewer for academic journals and conferences in Brazil and abroad. She maintains strong research collaborations with scholars in Germany, Belgium, Cyprus, and France.
