Tech Management

Coppead and the Polytechnic School of UFRJ developed an innovative program for those who want to develop technological and management skills and build high-impact business. Tech Management gathers the pillars of engineering and management and prepares entrepreneurs and professionals to create, test, launch and manage technology and digital products. Innovation is the focus of the program – both in content and in the format of the course. The partnership between two large UFRJ units allows for the creation of the first course of technologically oriented business specialization, creating a new paradigm in the generation and development of entrepreneurship in Brazil. The program is focused on building businesses that are based on applied technologies and have the potential to transform markets. Development of materials, laboratories and workshops are stimulated for ideas to be conceived, tested, prototyped so the business can be modeled considering technological and management requirements.

The program has 3 stages which encompass several activities, since picking the right technology until launching the business. The students will  attend classes, workshops and even clinics in order to enhance their chances in designing the proper business solution.   There are also wake-up calls with entrepreneurs and professionals where students have the opportunity to connect what is debated in class to the real-world issues.

PHASE 1 – CONCEPTION This stage of the course is aimed at a student reflection on problems to be solved in society and on available technologies in order to develop a product idea. He/she will have access to management contents that influence the success or failure of an idea. PHASE 2 – DEVELOPMENT At this stage, the ideas approved in Phase 1 will be developed and transformed into products. Development is based on mentoring and communication skills reinforce your presentations. PHASE 3 – PRODUCT LAUNCH At this stage, students are given training on ways to get the product to market and develop their launch strategies.

Admission Process

The admission process includes filling the application form and a personal interview with the Course Coordinator. The managerial experience of the candidate is taken into account during the selection process. The candidate must hold a diploma obtained in higher education. The final decision on the acceptance of the candidate is made by the Selection Committee.


Total: R$ 46.603,20 or  up to 24 installments.
