Biography
Paula Chimenti is an Associate Professor III in COPPEAD Graduate School of Business at UFRJ. She is the Editor-in-Chief of RAC – Revista de Administração Contemporânea. She holds a Productivity in Research Scholarship from CNPq and is the Coordinator of the Executive MBA at COPPEAD-UFRJ.
She earned her Ph.D. in Administration from COPPEAD-UFRJ (2010) and her Master’s in Administration from PUC-Rio (2001), where she also completed a specialization in Marketing (IAG Master in Marketing – 1997) and graduated in Communication (1995).
She leads the Center for Studies in Strategy and Innovation, where she develops research on the impact of disruptive innovations on business ecosystems and has supervised over 70 researchers, including Ph.D. students, master’s students, and graduates, in addition to supervising postdoctoral researchers and promoting scientific initiation.
Her research has received recognition from public funding agencies such as CNPq and FAPERJ through the acquisition of resources and scholarships. She is the leader of the Digital Marketing and Innovation theme at ANPAD.
She participated in the Global Colloquium on Participant Centered Learning at Harvard Business School and The Art and Practice of Leadership Development at Harvard Kennedy School. She teaches courses on Platform Management and Network Markets, Digital Marketing, Strategy and Innovation Theories, and Research Methodology in the Executive MBA, Master’s, and Ph.D. programs at COPPEAD/UFRJ. She has taught in the Global Partners MBA program at Georgia State University, IAE/Sorbonne, and COPPEAD.
She has published numerous works in the areas of strategy and innovation in A1/A2 journals such as the Journal of Consumer Research and Technological Forecasting and Social Change, and in major conferences in the field, such as the Association for Consumer Research (ACR) and the Academy of Management (AOM). Her articles have received twice the first prize at the most important academic marketing event in Brazil. She has acted as a reviewer for journals and as a referee for papers submitted to national and international conferences.
She has worked in companies in different sectors, in the areas of marketing and communication, and acts as a consultant for public and private organizations in strategy and innovation.
