Biography

Holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from IESE Business School, Universidad de Navarra, Barcelona, Spain and a Masters from COPPEAD/UFRJ. Holds a Bachelor of Science teaching degree in Mathematics from UFRGS. Professor of Operations and Technology at COPPEAD. Was the Dean of the institution between 2010 – 2013 and coordinator of several Executive MBA classes and taught at all levels of offered courses – Masters, PhD and Executive Education. Since 1990 has been a visiting professor at IE Business School, in Madrid, and between October 1994 and April 1996 was full-time Director of Operations and Logistics. He was Vice Dean of Executive Education between March 2005 and February 2008. Currently coordinator of the AMIL Chair in Management of Health Services and Coordinator of the Center for Studies in Health Services Management. His areas of research interest are Service Operations and Logistic Services Strategy. He has authored numerous teaching cases and articles published in technical and academic journals in Brazil and abroad.
