Biography

André Luís da Fonseca is an Adjunct Professor in the Graduate Program in Administration at UFRJ (COPPEAD). He coordinates the Executive Education program in Applied Artificial Intelligence (AI) (Post-MBA) at the same institution. Graduated in Computer Science from UFRJ, André holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science Teacher Education and Entrepreneurship from the University of Oxford, as well as a PhD in Administration from COPPEAD-UFRJ.

He is one of the coordinators of the Center for Studies in Strategy and Innovation at COPPEAD-UFRJ, where he conducts research on the application of AI in organizations and academic research on entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial ecosystems. He also teaches Applied AI and Entrepreneurship in the Master’s and Doctoral programs at COPPEAD-UFRJ.

André has published articles in the fields of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial ecosystems in journals classified as “Very Good” by CAPES, such as the Journal of Business Research and Technological Forecasting and Social Change. In 2024, he received the award for the best article derived from a doctoral thesis at the largest academic marketing event in Brazil.

Before entering academia, André worked as an entrepreneur for over a decade. During this period, he served as CEO of several technology companies, leading full cycles of venture capital investment. He currently acts as a mentor for startups within UFRJ’s innovation ecosystem.
