Reverse Knowledge Transfer in Multinational Companies: A Systematic Literature Review

The mainstream literature has focused on knowledge transfers from parent companies to subsidiaries, while paying less attention to knowledge created at the subsidiary level. But there is a growing trend to knowledge co-creation, and the responsibility of knowledge creation has shifted from headquarters to the corporation as a whole and its subsidiaries. Using a thorough systematic review over a 15-year period in top-tier journals, this thematic analysis finds interesting literature gaps to be filled and proposes a theoretical framework that conceptualizes the reverse knowledge transfer as a complex process; moreover, we offer a detailed view on the phenomenon of reverse knowledge transfer, seeking to contribute to a better understanding of it and providing a basis to assist corporate managers in global strategic planning and knowledge management and scholars in future academic research in the field.

Examining the Trade-off Between  Social Outreach and Financial  Efficiency Evidence from  Micro-finance Institutions  in South Asi

The micro-finance institutions (MFI) have been successfully operating for poverty alleviation. The recent turmoil in financial sustainability of major MFIs worldwide has raised the question of whether trade-off exists: Financial performance cannot be achieved without sacrificing the main objective—social outreach. This article examines the presence of such a trade-off by examining the empirical evidence from 127 South Asian MFIs over 2009–2013. The findings of this article reveal that MFIs have neutral trade-off in achieving the double bottom line: financial performance and social outreach. Moreover, there is a mission drift which is caused by higher portfolio at risk and resulted in lower capacity in targeting the poorest segment of citizens. In case of social outreach, it is found that financial performance of MFIs is dependent on the size of MFIs, years of operations and lending processes (group lending).

    investidor individual.

Facgor affecting desire to negotiate again

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the effects of negotiation process and outcome on an individual’s desire to negotiate again with the same counterpart. Data were collected from 115 dyads representing two companies negotiating an eight-issue property leasing agreement via e-mail. Desire to negotiate again was regressed on demographic/personality, process, and outcome measures. Reaching an agreement was found to be significantly related to desire to negotiate again, while the number of messages exchanged and the mean number of competitive tactics employed were positively and negatively associated with reaching an agreement, respectively. Further, perceived honesty of self and counterpart were also associated with an individual’s desire to negotiate again. This study focuses on an aspect of real negotiations often overlooked by researchers the likelihood of future encounters with the same party – and examines three categories of factors that could affect a party’s desire to negotiate with a counterpart again – demographic/personality, process, and outcome (actual and perceived).

Scientific literature analysis on big data and internet of things applications on circular economy: a bibliometric study

Circular economy (CE) is a term that exists since the 1970s and has acquired greater importance in the past few years, partly due to the scarcity of natural resources available in the environment and changes in consumer behavior. Cutting-edge technologies such as big data and internet of things (IoT) have the potential to leverage the adoption of CE concepts by organizations and society, becoming more present in our daily lives. Therefore, it is fundamentally important for researchers interested in this subject to understand the status quo of studies being undertaken worldwide and to have the overall picture of it. We conducted a bibliometric literature review from the Scopus Database over the period of 2006–2015 focusing on the application of big data/IoT on the context of CE. This produced the combination of 30,557 CE documents with 32,550 unique big data/IoT studies resulting in 70 matching publications that went through content and social network analysis with the use of ‘R’ statistical tool. We then compared it to some current industry initiatives. Bibliometrics findings indicate China and USA are the most interested countries in the area and reveal a context with significant opportunities for research. In addition, large producers of greenhouse gas emissions, such as Brazil and Russia, still lack studies in the area. Also, a disconnection between important industry initiatives and scientific research seems to exist. The results can be useful for institutions and researchers worldwide to understand potential research gaps and to focus future investments/studies in the field.
